We have built our curriculum around the competencies required for success on the ARMTS/MTAA exam, but the curriculum goes significantly beyond these core requirements. Our instructors have used their many years of experience and the latest research and writing about massage to develop our curriculum and lesson plans, in the form of 20 modules of study offered over two years.

The curriculum is organized in terms of learning objectives in each of the following categories. In each, we have set out what we expect each student to master, presented as competencies within useful subcategories.

The founders very much appreciate the contributions of members of ARMTS, the Massage Therapy Association of Alberta, the Registered Massage Therapists Association, the Association of Massage Therapists and Wholistic Practitioners, and many individuals in private and institutional practice for sharing their views of what it is important for our students to cover.
