Curriculum

We have built our curriculum around the competencies required for success on the MTAA and MTAS (Saskatchewan) entrance exams, but the curriculum goes significantly beyond these core requirements. Our curriculum developers have used their many years of experience and the latest research and writing about massage to create excellent instructional materials and lesson plans, in the form of 20 modules of study offered over two years.
Our program is not divided into conventional courses. Instead, students complete 20 distinct modules. Each module consists of mandatory tutorials followed by independent study. This classroom time accounts for 24 to 28 hours, depending on whether the student attends monthly (24+ hours) or weekly (26-28 hours). The balance of the module consists of assignments and projects, for an average workload of 20-25 hours per week.
Together, the 20 modules total 2200 hours of instruction and independent study. Note: work that would be considered "homework," such as review, studying and unsupervised practice, is not calculated as part of the 2200 program hours.
