The prospects for a career in massage therapy are good, and growing. There are a lot of massage therapists in Alberta and elsewhere, so we are often asked if there is room for more. We have asked the same question all over the province, and the consensus from practitioners and employers is yes a well-trained massage therapist prepared to market their skills properly will be in demand.
While our graduates will have very similar levels of massage skills and understanding (called competencies) as graduates of other two year, 2,200-hour programs, how they get to that point is a little different.
We are especially attractive to mature students looking for a career change, but not ready to give up their day jobs or to relocate to a city.
Because they are in class only one day per week (the weekly option) or three days once a month (the monthly option), our students have to be very focused both in tutorials and while doing their distance-learning assignment.
We are less expensive, and in some cases much less expensive, than the traditional programs.
